My favorite thing to do lately has been watching the Olympics! Seeing the world’s best athletes unite and compete is one of the most amazing spectacles to witness, Brazil is a beautiful country, and there is so much patriotism.
My favorite event to watch is gymnastics – I think it combines my interest in dance, particularly breakdancing, with music, and extreme concentration. This year, 4’9″ Simone Biles has taken the world by storm with her unmistakable charisma, unfallible reliability, and unprecedented tricks. As I watched her famed floor routine, I wondered how exactly she could flip in the air two and a half times. Isn’t height and size supposed to be one of the most important factors for success in sports? I researched some of this online, and I found a perfect video on YouTube that put my curiosities to rest. Watch the video (click on the link) to find out how Simone Biles uses the laws of physics to be a 4’9″ giant! Go Biles! Get that gold!
